First CLONED cat nears 10 years old

The first cloned cat (CC) is almost 10 years old and is being very healthy. CC and her boyfriend Smokey and her three little kitten is now living with two owner, Kraemer couple together.

Ten years ago, after scientists cloned the first cat, experts predicted a surge of clients wishing to resurrect their beloved pets. But that has not been the case.

Texas A&M University scientists Mark Westhusin and Duane Kraemer cloned the first cat in 2001. CC was born three days before Christmas, after a little more than a year of experimentation.
Mr Kraemer, one of the scientist said that the cloning is not resurrection but breeding. They will not have the same features.

CC, for "CopyCat" or "Carbon Copy" is a brown tabby and white domestic short-hair Its surrogate mother was a tabby, but her genetic donor, Rainbow, was a calico domestic short-hair. The difference in hair coloration between CC and Rainbow is due to epigenetic re-programming, which normally occurs in a fertilized embryo before implantation.

In September 2006, CC gave birth to three kitten who were fathered naturally. This is the first time a cloned pet has given birth. CC appears to be free of the cloning-related health problems that have arisen in some other animal clones.

"CC has always been a perfectly normal cat and her kittens are just that way, too," says Kraemer. "We’ve been monitoring their health and all of them are fine, just like CC has been for the past five years."

A Skydiving Pug?

America previous president Bush was skydiving for celebrating his 85 birthday. In California, Otis the pug does his 64th tandem skydiving.

Otis ten-year-old pug hailing from Galt, Calif., made his 64th jump (tandem, of course) with his owner, Will DaSilva, on Monday afternoon.

The little guy has been jumping out of planes with DaSilva since he was just one year old, but each jump continues to excite him.

"He's all excited about it, gets nervous at the door just like all the rest of the skydivers, and then once he gets out he's just having a ball. He's just like a dog with his head out the car window, just flapping away." DaSilva says.

DaSilva also emphasizes that he won't let Otis do it by his own, Otis must be accompanied by himself.

Apart from skydiving, Otis just likes normal pug, loves to stick with DaSilva and his fiancée

£8,000 on a dog facelift

A bloodhound dog in UK, Junior, has rare skin disorder, he had not grown into his skin properly and the weight of the excess flesh above his face had caused it to fold and cover his eyes. Junior's owner Denise and David Smart who live in Selby, North Yorkshire desired to take Junior for the operation which cost £8,000.

Junior is lonely and has fiery temper because of the rare skin disorder which result in blindness.

The couple told how they repeatedly took their five-year-old pooch to the vet where he at first had an eyelash removed. But his condition did not improve and he began suffering from a problem called entropion which could have led to Junior - the offspring of a Crufts champion - permanently losing his sight.

Vets referred Denise and David to a specialist called Gary Lewin who performed the delicate face lift - which he later described as the most difficult he'd ever done - during a three-hour operation.

                              Before                                             After

Junior's excess skin was removed allowing him to see clearly - and the couple say their pet has been given a new lease of life.

Dog sruvived being stabbed in the HEAD during burglary

German Shepherd is well known with its loyalty and courage. Bella the German Shepherd in South Africa is the best example. She fight with the robber during burglary but was attacked by the robber. An eight inch blade was into her skull.

Although the wound seems like serious, Bella miraculous recovered after the emergency surgery.

This shocking picture shows how the robbers narrowly missed the animal's eyes  as they plunged the deadly blade into her forehead.

Bella's owner Vernon Swart said he feared the worst when he saw the knife sticking out of her skull following the attack at his home.  He was told by his neighbors that his dog was running around in the street with a massive knife in her head. Vernon thinks it was a joke at first.

'I feared the worst and assumed she was going to die, but incredibly she was running around as if nothing had happened.' he said.
Bella is sitting beside Vernor quietly.

The vet couldn't believe what he was seeing and said he had no idea how Bella had survived.
The vet said it must have missed her brain by fractions of a centimeter and otherwise she would have been dead.
The eight inch diver's knife was later handed to the polices as evidence after the surgery.

Vernon told the police that if they find the robbers, they would like to leave Bella and them alone in a room for a few minutes, and Bella could quickly get her revenge.
